Maureen Wanza commonly known as Mercy Rose, was a Kenyan gospel singer, songwriter, and performer. She was born on 2nd February 1994 and passed away on 10th April 2019 after a short illness. She was a member of The Spotlight Music band before she launched her solo career as a gospel artist in 2017.
Mercy Rose received her education at Jerusalem Primary School and joined Nembu Girls High School in Embu County. She later enrolled at Daystar University to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Journalism.
In 2018, Mercy Rose won Groove Awards' "New Artist of the Year" and was nominated for "Collaboration of the Year" for her song "Nakupenda". Some of her most popular songs include "Umenivusha", "Atakushangaza", "Mwaminifu", and "Take Over".
Despite her short career, Mercy Rose made a significant impact in the Kenyan gospel music industry and inspired many with her music, energy, and passion for God.
